Summary

Our client is a leading Commercial General Contractor in the North County San Diego area.  They are in need of a business development / relationship manager in order to lead the organization in development and implementation of networking, marketing and lead generation.  This individual will create synergy between the strategic business plan of the Executive Leadership Team and all marketing, brand awareness, and networking opportunities. You will research and understand market trends and act as the catalyst in leveraging strategic business opportunities to drive growth accordingly. The role is approximately 50% business development and 50% relationship management. 

Results our client is seeking:

  • Monthly updates to ELT on market trends/changes and correlating growth opportunities
  • 100% execution on identified markets 
  • Identify and engage new networking/relationship/marketing opportunities monthly, while supplying weekly updates. 
  • Maintain and expand upon new/existing client relationships

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze and assess current market activity for untapped marketing and networking opportunities
  • Identify potential new markets that align with MC business model and values  
  • Owner of the full project lifecycle of lead generation: You initiate, plan, execute on all new leads
  • Preexisting leads, collaborate with estimators to provide service and generate rapport to close sale
  • Drive and oversee marketing initiatives based upon current market trends and growth opportunities
  • Create and manage regular attendance at selected trade shows and industry events
  • Presentation of company’s business values, SOPs and products to all new clients 
  • Creatively research leads through various resources (online presence, social media etc)
  • Maintain company’s social media presence in a manner which fosters interest in company
  • Collaborate with field teams (Estimators, Superintendents, PMs) on new clients/leads
  • Collaborate with estimators to effectively follow-up on leads and close a sale.  
  • Understand client’s needs and accurately promote company’s products that meet those needs
  • Create and maintain system of identification of all current and potential clients, leads, marketing 
  • Lead in client-facing presence to ensure highest quality of experience for clients
  • Quarterly debrief with all Estimators/Project Superintendents to gauge client satisfaction and  experience 
  • Manage productive relationships with company team to be an asset with the team and client
  • Key support for project managers and clients to monitor current projects and provide support when needed (i.e.: client visits, lunches, end of project thank you, PR intervention when problems arise)
  • Client-facing presence with clients coupled with PM’s on bid results, maintain relationship with client until estimator lands a job 
  • Periodic client checkins throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure the client relationship is consistently nurtured.  
  • Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support 
  • Assist with company event planning and community events 
  • Other essential duties as assigned. 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Business, Sales Management or related field) 
  • 5+ years’ experience in Business Development and/or Account Management 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience must have been in A/E/C Industry preferred 
  • Demonstrated skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
  • CRM Experience plus 
  • Highly Knowledgeable: In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events

  • Highly Interpersonal: Skilled at fostering new business relationships while maintaining current ones
