Our client is a well-established Southern California‑based company with over 30 years of experience in creating and maintaining luxurious, customized swimming pools. They offer a full range of services, including new pool construction, remodels, equipment repair and upgrades, smart automation, water-quality analysis, and poolside inspections. They are a certified warranty station for Pentair and Jandy products—committed to excellence in craftsmanship, attention to detail, and customer satisfaction. They are in immediate need of adding a Part Time Pool Cleaning Technician.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Must have their own personal truck to transport necessary equipment to customer sites.
- Skimming debris, vacuuming pools, and cleaning filters and pool surfaces.
- Testing and balancing water chemistry (pH, chlorine, alkalinity, hardness) and adding chemicals as needed.
- Cleaning and maintaining circulation systems including pumps, filters, heaters, and skimmers.
- Identifying and reporting any structural issues (e.g., leaks, cracks) or faulty equipment.
- Performing minor repairs — such as replacing light fittings, tightening fittings, or sealing leaks.
- Managing inventory: stocking service vehicles with chemicals, parts, and tools; accurately logging usage.
- Completing service reports, maintaining customer records, and using company scheduling or time-tracking tools.
- Communicating professionally with customers—answering questions, providing pool care advice, and identifying upsell or referral opportunities .
- Upholding company standards for appearance, vehicle cleanliness, and adherence to safety protocols .
- Participating in training sessions and collaborating with the broader pool service team.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience (1+ years preferred) in pool cleaning, maintenance, or related service roles
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; reliable transportation .
- Knowledge of water chemistry and pool care best practices
- Mechanical aptitude — able to diagnose basic equipment problems and perform minor repairs
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50–100+ lbs), stand/walk for extended periods, and work in outdoor conditions .
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management .
- Excellent customer service and communication skills .
- Comfort handling chemicals safely and following safety protocols
- Certifications (preferred, not always required): Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Pool Professional and Spa Operator (PPSO), or equivalent training from recognized bodies like NSPF or APSP
- Willingness to work flexible part‑time hours—typically seasonal, with possible weekend or holiday shifts during peak demand .
