Summary

The Project Engineer plays a critical support role within the Operations team, serving as a key liaison between the Owner, Architect, Subcontractors, and internal project staff. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate project documentation, supporting field operations, and ensuring information flows efficiently throughout the construction lifecycle. The Project Engineer assists the project team in delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination & Support

    • Assist the Project Manager and field leadership to maintain schedule and budget alignment

    • Develop a thorough understanding of all contract documents and subcontractor scopes of work

    • Provide administrative and coordination support to both field and office teams

  • Document Control & File Management

    • Maintain and update the Contract Drawing Log within Procore

    • Manage and organize on-site project files

    • File and maintain all project-related correspondence for reference and compliance

    • Support project closeout by archiving plans, files, and related documentation

  • Submittals & RFI Management

    • Assist in obtaining, logging, tracking, and distributing submittals in accordance with project specifications

    • Support management of Requests for Information (RFIs) and potential change order documentation

    • Maintain accurate logs for tracking and follow-up

  • Project Documentation & Reporting

    • Coordinate and maintain records including:

      • Pre-construction meeting attendance

      • Meeting minutes

      • Permits and inspection documentation

      • Concrete pour schedules and placement activities

      • Field coordination documentation

      • Scheduling support updates

      • Closeout documentation (warranties, guarantees, O&M manuals, etc.)

      • As-built drawing compilation and distribution to the Owner

  • Additional Responsibilities

    • Perform other duties as assigned to support project success and team objectives

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Technical Skills

    • Experience with Procore preferred

    • Familiarity with Timberline, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and P6 scheduling software desired

    • Experience with Prolog or Expedition may be considered comparable

  • Professional Attributes

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment

    • Team-oriented mindset with willingness to assist in meeting critical deadlines
