Summary

 
Our client, a leading mechanical contractor with nearly a century of excellence in customer service and employee ownership, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager for their San Diego, CA location. Known for maintaining the highest safety standards and delivering exceptional quality, our client specializes in design/build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC, advanced mechanical and industrial system installations, and cutting-edge building information modeling (BIM). This role will be responsible for managing mechanical construction projects safely, on time, and within budget across various sectors, including Healthcare, Life Sciences, Commercial, and Industrial markets.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety of field personnel assigned to the project
  • Oversee labor productivity, quality assurance, and field coordination
  • Manage project financials, including cost forecasting, cash flow, and reporting
  • Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment
  • Administer change orders and project documentation
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients and subcontractors
  • Manage overall project execution in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Supervise and support team members, ensuring accountability during active job hours
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred
      • 5-7 years of mechanical construction experience.
      • Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish
    • Technical Skills
      • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Vista-Viewpoint (Project Management & Accounting), and QuoteSoft Estimating Software
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Core Attributes
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
    • Detail-oriented and able to work independently
    • Skilled at interpreting written, oral, and diagram-based instructions
    • Familiarity with managing and archiving technical project data
    • Compliance with all operating policies, procedures, and safety programs
