Summary

Our client, a nationally recognized specialty contractor consistently ranked among the top firms in the industry, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Phoenix, AZ. This position is responsible for overseeing construction projects from the planning phase through final completion, ensuring all work is performed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards. The Project Manager will coordinate closely with estimating, field operations, and executive leadership while guiding the project team through every phase of the project lifecycle. Occasional travel to project sites within the greater Phoenix area may be required.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Execution

  • Collaborate with executive leadership, estimating teams, field operations, and key stakeholders to define project scope and establish execution strategies

  • Organize pre-construction planning meetings and develop project schedules, budgets, and cost-control strategies

  • Establish clear project goals, procedures, and performance expectations for the project team

  • Monitor project progress from initial planning through final completion and provide updates to leadership

  • Identify potential challenges or risks and communicate them proactively to management

• Team & Field Coordination

  • Conduct regular meetings with field personnel to ensure project alignment and productivity

  • Provide support to Project Engineers when necessary and assume responsibilities during their absence

  • Assist with workforce planning and labor strategy discussions

  • Represent the organization during project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders

• Financial Oversight

  • Manage project financials, including tracking project costs and preparing cost-to-complete forecasts

  • Prepare and submit monthly project billings to general contractors or project owners

  • Review subcontractor invoices and coordinate approvals for payment processing

  • Partner with purchasing teams to manage material procurement and equipment buyouts

• Additional Responsibilities

  • Take on additional duties as assigned by senior leadership

  • Apply effective leadership strategies to maximize team performance and project success

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred

  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience managing commercial or industrial plumbing/mechanical construction projects

  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, engineering concepts, and project delivery methods

• Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam, Navis Freedom, and COINS or similar project management software

  • Ability to manage multiple project priorities while maintaining compliance with company processes

  • Valid driver’s license required

• Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk or computer

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 15 pounds

  • Visual ability to review printed documents and digital information

  • Ability to access construction areas such as ladders, trenches, confined spaces, or attics when required

  • Ability to communicate effectively in environments with elevated noise levels

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting job sites

  • Ability to handle and manipulate small tools or objects when necessary
