Summary
Our client is a well-established and highly respected electrical contracting firm based in Southern California (Santa Clarita, CA), specializing in commercial and industrial projects. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality electrical solutions, they are known for their commitment to safety, precision, and on-time project execution. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and drive the successful delivery of complex electrical construction projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of electrical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets; ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure full project understanding and compliance
- Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution
- Lead project meetings, including kickoff meetings, progress updates, and closeout discussions
- Monitor project costs, track changes, and manage change orders effectively
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company standards, and client requirements
- Procure materials and manage vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency
- Oversee field personnel and collaborate closely with Superintendents/Foremen
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional customer service throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to leadership
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)
- Minimum of 5+ years of Project Management experience within commercial or industrial electrical contracting
- Proven experience managing ground-up and/or tenant improvement electrical projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction processes, and industry standards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar)
- Solid understanding of budgeting, cost control, and scheduling principles
- Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) and local building codes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
