Summary
We are seeking an experienced Public Works Project Manager to join our Operations team. This role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, execution, and successful completion of commercial construction projects in alignment with company standards, schedules, and client expectations.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing public works or public agency projects and will oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and client communication from project initiation through completion. This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with design documents and contract requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Project Management & Execution
- Manage, plan, and direct all activities related to assigned construction projects
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure all project goals are executed in accordance with design documents and construction schedules
- Develop and manage CPM project schedules to track progress and maintain timelines
• Budget & Financial Management
- Manage project budgets, including oversight of any self-performed work
- Monitor project costs and ensure financial objectives are achieved
- Prepare and submit owner billings accurately and on schedule
- Ensure timely submission and execution of owner change orders and schedule updates
• Subcontractor & Vendor Management
- De-scope subcontractors and develop thorough and complete subcontract agreements
- Maintain regular communication with subcontractors to ensure timely and quality performance
- Coordinate subcontractor activities to maintain schedule and project milestones
• Owner & Stakeholder Communication
- Negotiate and communicate with owners and public entities throughout the project
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Provide updates on project progress, schedule, and budget performance
• Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Implement and manage quality assurance procedures to ensure project standards are met
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Maintain knowledge of commonly used field concepts, practices, and procedures within commercial construction
• Preconstruction & Procurement Support
- Participate in project procurement activities including business development, marketing, preconstruction, and estimating
- Support project planning efforts and contribute to the successful acquisition of new projects
Qualifications & Requirements
• Required
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Manager with a Commercial General Contractor
- Previous experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager on public works or public agency projects
- Experience managing construction schedules, budgets, and subcontractor coordination
- Strong communication and negotiation skills when working with owners, subcontractors, and public entities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• Preferred
- Experience working on Clark County School District (CCSD), UNLV, or similar public agency projects
- Experience with construction management software including Procore, Timberline, and P6 scheduling (or similar tools)
- Project experience within sectors such as Office, Education, Retail, Federal/Municipal, Hospitality/Casino, Sports & Recreation, Parking Structures, or Tenant Improvement/Renovations
