We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on public-sector construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
The Superintendent will coordinate jobsite operations, supervise field personnel and subcontractors, and maintain consistent communication with project teams and stakeholders. This role plays a key part in delivering complex public projects including educational, municipal, and civic facilities while maintaining strong project performance and quality outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Jobsite Management
- Manage and direct all job site activities from project start through completion
- Oversee field operations including self-performed labor crews and subcontractor work
- Ensure all project goals are accomplished according to specifications, schedules, and budget requirements
- Maintain daily communication with job foremen and craft personnel to ensure expected production
• Subcontractor Coordination
- Schedule, coordinate, and oversee subcontractor work throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct weekly subcontractor meetings to review schedule performance, safety compliance, and quality control
- Communicate directly with subcontractors to ensure prompt coordination and accurate drawings
• Project Schedule & Performance
- Develop and implement strategies to complete projects on or ahead of schedule and within budget
- Monitor field productivity and track production for self-performed work
- Review RFI status, delays, and additional work requirements that may impact project progress
• Project Communication & Coordination
- Maintain regular communication with Project Managers and project teams regarding project issues, schedule changes, or delays
- Coordinate jobsite activities with project teams to ensure alignment between field operations and project management
- Assist with project closeout preparation and participate in closeout meetings prior to project completion
• Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality control measures, and jobsite regulations
- Maintain knowledge of commonly used field concepts, practices, and construction procedures
- Implement and maintain established guidelines and procedures required for jobsite operations
• Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate with project stakeholders including owners and public entities when required
- Maintain professional communication and collaboration with all project participants
• Field Supervision
- Supervise field teams including up to 300 employees and subcontractors combined depending on project scope and requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
• Required
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent with a Commercial General Contractor
- Prior experience managing public-sector or educational construction projects
- Experience coordinating and scheduling subcontractors on active construction sites
- Strong knowledge of commonly used construction field concepts, practices, and procedures
• Preferred
- Experience working on educational projects with Clark County School District, UNLV, or similar public agencies
- Experience with project types including Tilt-Up, Office, Education, Aviation, Medical, Federal/Municipal, Sports & Recreation, Parking Structures, or Tenant Improvement / Renovation projects
- Experience working within the CMAR (Construction Manager at Risk) delivery method
- Experience performing constructability reviews, site logistics planning, subcontractor coordination, and scope reviews during the preconstruction phase
- Experience developing and maintaining construction schedules and schedule updates
- Experience with construction management software including Procore, e-Builder, and P6 (or similar tools)
- Strong knowledge of self-perform concrete work
- Working knowledge of MEPF systems and underground utilities
- Familiarity with telecommunications, security, intrusion detection, AV, clock/intercom, fire alarm, and EMS systems
• Work Environment
- Ability to work onsite at active construction projects
- Work environment may include job trailers and construction sites with typical construction noise and activity
