Summary
Our client, a top notch mechanical contractor, is seeking a HVAC Estimator for their San Diego, CA office. Duties And Responsibilities
- Bid document review
- Pre-bid meetings
- Client interface
- Quantity takeoff
- Material, equipment and subcontractor pricing
- Spreadsheet input and proposal preparation
- Estimates will be prepared using Quote Express estimating software.
- Experience with Quote Express or other on-screen estimating software is desired.
- Duties also include on site and/or in-house estimating where candidate will work with professionals in design firms on design-assist and design-build projects to direct the design to meet the budget.
- Estimator will also interface with construction project teams and CAD detailing staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, Bluebeam, Lotus Notes, and QuoteExpress windows-based piping and sheet metal estimating systems.
- Must have knowledge regarding safety, worker’s compensation, insurance and bonding, materials as it pertains to bidding requirements.

- Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must have organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data.
- Must comply with all operating policies, procedures, plans, and programs
- Prefer a minimum of 3-5 years mechanical construction experience and proficiency in the preparation of large and complex bid proposals of all types.
- Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, clients, vendors, and suppliers.
