Our client, a top notch mechanical contractor, is seeking a HVAC Estimator for their San Diego, CA office. Duties And Responsibilities

Bid document review
Pre-bid meetings
Client interface
Quantity takeoff
Material, equipment and subcontractor pricing
Spreadsheet input and proposal preparation
Estimates will be prepared using Quote Express estimating software.
- Experience with Quote Express or other on-screen estimating software is desired.
Duties also include on site and/or in-house estimating where candidate will work with professionals in design firms on design-assist and design-build projects to direct the design to meet the budget.
Estimator will also interface with construction project teams and CAD detailing staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, Bluebeam, Lotus Notes, and QuoteExpress windows-based piping and sheet metal estimating systems.
Must have knowledge regarding safety, worker’s compensation, insurance and bonding, materials as it pertains to bidding requirements.

Must have organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data.
Must comply with all operating policies, procedures, plans, and programs
Prefer a minimum of 3-5 years mechanical construction experience and proficiency in the preparation of large and complex bid proposals of all types.
Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, clients, vendors, and suppliers.
